This two-week, hands-on training brings together sustainability designers, teachers and practitioners with enthusiasts who want to learn how to implement projects that integrate and localize solutions to meet basic human needs of healthy water, food and shelter.
Through hands-on projects,
demonstrations and presentations, classes and discussions, participants
will have a chance to wrap their heads, hearts and hands around:

Los invitamos a vivir la experiencia de adquirir la práctica y conocimiento de las técnicas para utilizar la arcilla en la construcción.
Las Técnicas que utilizaremos serán: El Entramado, la Quincha y el Encofrado. (Altamente resistentes a sismos) Aplicaremos mezclas de tierra arcillosa para utilizarlos como alivianado aislante, estucos niveladores y estuco fino. Aprenderemos cómo poner el sistema eléctrico en muros de barro.
Será impartido por la profesional maestra en barro, Su Stenzel, de los Estados Unidos, recidente de la aldea Blowing in the wind. Discípula del renombrado maestro alemán de la construcción natural, Gernot Minke. Con años de experiencia.
For the sixth time since we started working in a national network, we met in council with the representatives of the projects that make up the Ecovillage Network and related projects in Chile.
During four intense days (of which we spent two attending the meeting of Permaculture & Ecovillage projects of the Southern Cone of America, Permasur) of work, laughing, evaluation. Together we projected the future of a network that seeks to nurture & integrate projects through the exchange of information and experiences, and to come out as a humble respect for those who are being initiated in this way and require the help they can provide projects that take a stretch and walk, retraced and re-walk.
With the excellent facilitation of Sadasat from the Ecovillage El Romero, the representatives of the Ecovillage Andalican, Caravan Ahimsa, Ecocentro Eluwn, Ecoescuela El Manzano, Ecovillage El Romero, the Eco Dome Village Maiwe, Ecocentro El Espino came together to share. All this took place in the beautiful surroundings and comfortable spaces provided by the generous team at El Manzano.
Charles advocates constructive action towards ecosocial regeneration through establishing regenerative enterprises, complementary currencies, gift circles and more. The key is, according to Charles, to contradict the separation that seems to have been the driving force in creating the current, destructive culture with it's strong addiction to technical fixes that serve only to deepen the alienation of humans for nature and each other. Organic systems such as community based currencies that lose value when they are hoarded are a high priority in his scheme to bring about re-connection on a massive scale.
Permaculture is already wild ... now you can make it free.
Since 2008 we have been running transformative learning events, otherwise know as the PDC, here in Chile. Since this time almost 400 people from all over Chile and Latin America have graduated with a permaculture design certificate recognised by the Permaculture Research Intitute. 10% of these people have taken the course free, or by work trade. But we just cant do it for everyone.
Meanwhile there is an education revolution taking place, our youth rising up and saying enough is enough. They are not only protesting for a new education system, but for structural change of a representative democracy and capitalist system that puts economy before life.
Little do the masses of students know it, but an education revolution is happening right under their noses, right here in El Manzano. And our advice to them has always been like this:

de aprendizaje, Diseño en Permacultura. Mientras los adultos realizan
el curso Certificado de Diseño en Permacultura, paralelamente los
pequeños también hacen este aprendizaje.
Enseñar a los niños y niñas los valores, éticas, principios y prácticas de la Permacultura, para que puedan aprender desde ya, soluciones básicas de sustentabilidad y aplicarlas en un futuro próximo, en sus comunidades. Un medio por donde potencien sus capacidades de crear y proyectar mejoras en su entorno natural.
El Curso responde a la inquietud de todos los que quieren aventurarse en construir su propia casa y quieren utilizar materiales naturales, como la Tierra y la Madera. Por ello, quisimos idear este curso para capacitar en carpintería, manejo de herramientas, preparación y aplicación de barro, alivianado de paja, diseño de una casa, esto y mucho mas….. todas las variables que una construcción conlleva aplicadas en la misma obra.
